Although not a muscle car by definition, the <strong>Corvette <\/strong>used muscle car powertrains and has represented American performance for almost fifty years.<\/p>\n<p>After a year&#8217;s absence, the <strong>Stingray<\/strong> name re\u00adappeared on the front fenders. Front and rear disc\u00a0brakes, headlight washers, center console, wheel trim rings, carpeting, and all-vinyl upholstery\u00a0were now standard. This was the first time the <strong>coupe<\/strong> outsold the <strong>convertible<\/strong>, and would continue\u00a0to do so in all subsequent years.<\/p>\n<p>If you liked the <strong>1970 Corvette<\/strong>, you&#8217;d like the <em>1971<\/em>. They were virtually the same car. A new resin\u00a0process (that supposedly improved the body) and a different interior were the major changes. Under\u00a0the hood, compression ratios were lowered to enable <strong>Corvette<\/strong> engines to run on lower octane fuel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Third Generation <em>Stingray<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fitted to this car; a <strong>NUMBERS MATCHING<\/strong> <em>350\/270<\/em> HP V-8 Turbo Fire engine.\u00a0The transmission is the factory optional 4 speed manual. The exterior is <em>Brands Hatch Green<\/em> with a\u00a0<em>Dark Green<\/em> vinyl interior. Factory options include <em>Pwr. Steering<\/em>, <em>Pwr. Brakes<\/em> and <em>AM\/FM Radio<\/em>.\u00a0Car comes complete with the original <em>Corvette <strong>Gas Tank<\/strong> Sticker<\/em> and full set of receipts for parts and\u00a0repairs. A Solid example of a great <em>American Classic Muscle Car<\/em>.
