Has there ever been a more&nbsp;in-your-face vehicle built in North America? Three carburetors, fiberglass hood and spoiler,&nbsp;side exit exhaust and eye popping graphics make the <strong>Plymouth AAR &#8216;Cuda<\/strong> one car that&#8217;s&nbsp;impossible to ignore.<\/p>\n<p>The redesign for the 1970 <strong>Barracuda<\/strong> removed all its previous commonality with the Valiant.&nbsp;The original fastback design was deleted from the line and the <strong>Barracuda<\/strong> now consisted of coupe&nbsp;and convertible models. The all-new model, styled by John E. Herlitz, was built on a shorter,&nbsp;wider version of Chrysler&#8217;s existing B platform, called the E-body.<\/p>\n<p>Swede Savage and Dan Gurney raced identical factory-sponsored <strong>AAR (<em>All American Racers<\/em>) &#8216;Cudas<\/strong> in&nbsp;the 1970 <em>Trans-Am<\/em> Series. The cars qualified for three pole positions but did not win any <em>Trans-Am <\/em>races; the highest finish was 2nd at Road America. A street version of the <strong>AAR &#8216;Cuda<\/strong> was produced,&nbsp;powered by the 340 cu in 5.6 L <strong>&#8220;six pack&#8221;<\/strong> three two-barrel carburetors engine.<\/p>\n<p>Gorgeous Example 1970 <strong>Plymouth <em>AAR Cuda<\/em><\/strong> 2 Door Hardtop.&nbsp;Powered by a <em>340 cu in &#8220;six pack&#8221; 290HP V8 AAR engine<\/em> with serial number 0B283690. The correct cowl number, rad support, and tag are present.&nbsp;Vehicle is fitted&nbsp;with a factory <strong>A-727 TorqueFlite <\/strong>Automatic Transmission. Also fitted with <em>Pwr. brakes<\/em> and 15&#8243; Rally Wheels with Goodyear Eagle&nbsp;ST Tires. The exterior is an eye catching <strong>Plum Crazy<\/strong>, with a fiberglass Flat Black Hood, rear Spoiler&nbsp;and all the correct decals and emblems. The&nbsp;<strong>black<\/strong> vinyl Interior also shows really well. Solid example, great investment value.
