The 1970<\/strong> model year was an impressive beginning to a new decade. During this Decade<\/strong>,\u00a0Cadillac<\/strong> styling became more graceful and restrained as Bill Mitchell<\/em> gradually unified\u00a0the design. Freedom of spirit and a taste for luxury are combined magnificently in the 1970<\/strong> Models.\u00a0The long, low styling approach set Cadillac<\/strong> apart from other luxury makes and was a new\u00a0refreshing look for the seventies. To the American public, Cadillac<\/strong> remained a symbol of prestige<\/em>,\u00a0success<\/em>, and good taste<\/em>.<\/p>\n

DeVilles<\/strong> had all of the same features as Calais<\/em> models, plus dual rear cigarette lighters, Two-Way\u00a0horizontal control front seat adjusters and rear center arm rest in all models except convertibles.\u00a0Exterior distinction came from a DeVille<\/strong> script above the rear end of the belt molding and from the\u00a0use of long, rectangular backup light lenses set into the lower rear bumper, as opposed to the smaller,\u00a0square lenses used on Calais. A new feature seen this year was a body color border around the edges\u00a0of the vinyl top covering, when this option was ordered. This treatment had first been seen on 1969\u00a0Fleetwoods. The Sedan DeVille<\/strong> and Convertible DeVille<\/strong> were in their last season.<\/p>\n
