Although not a muscle car by definition, the <strong>Corvette <\/strong>used muscle car powertrains and has represented American performance for almost fifty years.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Sting Rays<\/em> were the automotive success story of the year. <strong>Chevrolet<\/strong> had to add\u00a0a second shift to its <em>St. Louis, Missouri<\/em> assembly plant to keep up with demand, and\u00a0dealers reported owners waiting months for their cars to be built. By the end of the\u00a0model year, Corvette production would surpass the <em>20,000-unit<\/em> milestone.<\/p>\n<p>After a year&#8217;s absence, the <strong>Stingray<\/strong> name re\u00adappeared on the front fenders. Front and rear disc\u00a0brakes, headlight washers, center console, wheel trim rings, carpeting, and all-vinyl upholstery\u00a0were now standard. This was the first time the <strong>coupe<\/strong> outsold the <strong>convertible<\/strong>, and would continue\u00a0to do so in all subsequent years.<\/p>\n<p>Fitted to this car; a <strong>NUMBERS MATCHING<\/strong> <em>350\/300<\/em> HP V-8 Turbo Fire engine.\u00a0The transmission is the factory optional three-speed <strong>Turbo Hydra-Matic<\/strong> automatic transmission with\u00a0floor-mounted gear shifter. The exterior is <em>Silverstone Silver<\/em> with a Black vinyl interior. Factory\u00a0options include <em>Tilt, Telescopic, Pwr. Steering, Pwr. Brakes and Air Conditioning<\/em> <strong>(A\/C is Cold)<\/strong>.\u00a0Thousands of dollars have been invested includind a complete rebuild on the under carriage. Full set\u00a0of receipts for parts and repairs from <em>1993 to 2004<\/em>.
