Over 20,000 cars were sold in the\u00a0first week of public release.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s interesting to note that while Ford chose the name <strong><em>&#8220;Mustang&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><em><\/em> to reflect\u00a0the spirited image of the P-51 US World War 2 fighter plane named the <em>Mustang<\/em>,\u00a0the public immediately associated the car with the untamed wild horse of\u00a0the American West. Ford quickly adopted the image of a wild galloping horse\u00a0as the badging symbol of this now classic car.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Mustang<\/strong> got larger once again for 1969 even though the wheelbase remained 108 inches.\u00a0The new body for 1969 featured four headlights, a sharp nose with a simpler grille that\u00a0dispensed with the famed running horse centerpiece and a revision of the fake side scoops\u00a0on the coupe and <em>convertible<\/em>. Unlike the &#8217;67, the &#8217;69 design clearly broke from established\u00a0<strong>Mustang<\/strong> styling themes.<\/p>\n<p>This <strong>1969 Ford <em>Mustang<\/em> Convertible<\/strong> comes equipped with a factory <strong>&#8220;H&#8221;- code <\/strong>351 CI 4V V8 producing 250HP.
