The Chevrolet Impala<\/strong> is a sedan based automobile developed and built by the Chevrolet <\/strong>car division of General Motors<\/em>. Ed Cole, Chevrolet’s<\/em> chief engineer in the late 1950s, defined the Impala as a “prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen.”<\/p>\n

In a country that worships its automobiles, being the favorite brand is a high honor. Since it was first introduced in 1958<\/em>, Impala has become more than just a car… its unique combination of style, performance and value made it an off-the-charts favorite for millions of Americans<\/strong>. In fact, with sales in excess of 13 million from 1958 to 1996<\/em>, more American households chose Impala as their car than any other full-size car in the history of the automobile.<\/p>\n

The Impala<\/strong> was introduced in 1958 as a new up-level, sporty trim package created for Bel Air <\/em>coupes and convertibles. Unique to the model were its six taillights<\/em>, a classic styling cue that became its trademark. It was named for a southern African antelope<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This 1958 Chevrolet<\/strong> Impala<\/em> 2 Door Hardtop is a gorgeous sporty American Classic<\/em>. This vehicle has been modified to include a 348 C.I. Tri-Power<\/strong> engine with a 4 Speed<\/em> floor mounted manual shifter. The conversion was done 3 years ago by a GM Technician<\/strong>. The interior is new original pattern replacement. The bumpers were rechromed<\/em>, the brakes were rebuilt as were the three carbs. The Chrome rims are aftermarket 17″<\/strong> with bridgestone potenza<\/em> tires. Overall this Impala is in great condition. An extremely cool classic with from the late 50’s.<\/strong><\/p>\n
