In early 1969 the TR\u00b4s<\/strong> second new body appeared, this time a facelift carried out by Karmann<\/strong>.\u00a0The car\u00b4s centre section was left almost intact, as from the earlier TR4\/4a\/5 & 250<\/em> models,\u00a0but a new bonnet and boot section was grafted on, producing a more angular, purposeful- looking TR<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In all, 94,619<\/em> TRs<\/strong> were built, of which 86,249<\/em> found homes overseas, only 8,370<\/em> being sold in the UK<\/strong>.\u00a0The TR6<\/strong> was modified in several respects during its production run and the components affected include\u00a0the gearbox (ratios) and the optional overdrive (type). The trim was also altered and an air dam was\u00a0fitted below the bumper from 1973<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 150bhp<\/em> (142 bhp DIN) injection engine continued until the end of 1972<\/em>, when it was somewhat\u00a0derated to 124 bhp(DIN). For the US market the “federal”<\/em> engine had 2 Stromberg carbs to keep within\u00a0the exhaust-emission limits and produced only 104-106 bhp, depending on which year. The TR6 <\/strong>remained in production longer than any previous TR<\/strong>, continuing for the European<\/em> market until 1975,\u00a0and for the US market<\/em> until 1976.<\/p>\n

Classic British<\/strong> Sports Car<\/em> from Triumph<\/strong>, the 1976 TR6<\/em> Convertible.\u00a0This example has been finished in White with a Brown interior, new carpeting and black soft top. The engine\u00a0is a 6 cylinder producing 106 bhp with twin Stromberg carbs and a 4 speed manual transmission. Recent\u00a0mechanical work include new clutch, release fork, bearings, clutch slave and brake master cylinder. This car\u00a0is also equipped with factory air conditioning, system complete but currently not working.\u00a0Car runs and drives extremely well. This TR6<\/strong> is very attractive, a great combination of color.<\/p>\n
