When the MGA<\/strong> arrived in 1955, it must have come as quite a shock to MG\u00a0aficionados who had become used to the pre-war look of the company’s sports\u00a0cars. Even the revamped TF left nothing to doubt about its 1930’s-style\u00a0design. The MGA was a complete departurein styling for MG.<\/em> It’s beautiful\u00a0streamlined body was right up to the minute in terms of appearance. On it’s\u00a0launch the car was extremely well received, which was no doubt helped by its\u00a0previous competition successes, and it’s impressive performance in standard\u00a0road-going form. It also offered very good value for money in the MG tradition\u00a0and it sold very well, with a large number going to the USA where it did much\u00a0to revive MG’s flagging reputation.<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
