MG<\/strong> stands for Morris Garages<\/em>, which was the Oxford distributor for Morris cars<\/em>; co-incidentally, it was also owned by William Morris<\/em>, later Lord Nuffield<\/em>. When Cecil Kimber<\/em> became its general manager in 1922, the firm started modifying standard Morris Cowleys<\/em>, lowering the chassis and fitting more sporting bodywork.<\/p>\n

Something had to be done about the flagging sales of the TD<\/strong>, but all that could be done at the time was to give it a facelift. Hence, the MG TF<\/strong> Midget was introduced in 1953. Essentially this car was the same as the TD<\/strong>, having the same form of chassis, suspension, brakes, steering, engine, and transmission. The bodywork displayed the most changes, although it still had that un-mistakable and by now old- fashioned MG<\/strong> style.<\/p>\n

The TF 1200 still performed poorly compared to other sports cars of the period. In 1955 MG came out with a more powerful 1500 cc engine that replaced the tiring 1250 cc engine of past T Series cars.<\/p>\n

This 1955 MG TF Roadster<\/em><\/strong> is one elegant British Roadster<\/em> with lots of appeal. Un-mistakable old- fashioned MG style<\/strong> for the British car enthusiast. The exterior is finished in British Racing Green<\/em> with Red leather<\/em> interior and tan fabric soft top. The engine is the original 4-cylinder 1500 c.c.<\/strong><\/em> producing 63 Bhp at 5,500 r.p.m., with a 4 speed manual gearbox. This car is solid throughout, runs and drives extremely well. Lots of money invested over the years. This beauty is ready for the open road. A true gentleman’s<\/strong> car!<\/p>\n
