Over the years the Ford Thunderbird<\/strong> has earned its place in U.S. history as an icon of automotive technology. When the Thunderbird<\/strong> was introduced in 1955 it was intended to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette. It was a two-seat car with clean styling, creature comforts, and V8 refinements.<\/p>\n

T-bird\u2019s<\/strong> mission began to change in 1964 with a complete redesign, sharper lines<\/em>, a more stodgy profile<\/em>, and an increased emphasis on luxury<\/em>. 1966 saw more cosmetic changes such as a new grille, a single tail-light that ran the width of the back of the car, and new body sculpting.<\/p>\n

Thunderbirds<\/em> were much larger, and some fans of the classic strong>Thunderbird consider 1966 to be the last year of interest<\/em>.<\/p>\n
